Jonathan Swift 1941-2024

Obituary of Psoriasis Association Life Vice-President Jonathan Swift

The Psoriasis Association was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Honorary Life Vice President, Jonathan Swift earlier this month.

Jonathan was actively involved with the Psoriasis Association for over thirty-four years from when he was first co-opted as a trustee in 1985 until his retirement in 2019.

He assumed a pivotal role on the Finance Committee in 1997 before becoming its chairman in 2008, helping to advise and guide the charity’s fiscal activities for over ten years.

He was elected as the Vice-chair of the board of trustees in September 2000, a position he would hold until his retirement, when he was appointed an Honorary life Vice-President in recognition of his years of dedicated service.

Jonathan continued to be involved in Psoriasis Association work and projects following his retirement, regularly attending our Annual Conferences around the country. He always gave freely of his time to help out whether by taking part in photoshoots or helping out with contributions and stories for Psoriasis Awareness Week.

Psoriasis Association Chairman, Nick Evans said:

"Jonathan's commitment to our aims and work spanned many years. His work on the finance committee in particular and as vice chair were central to the development of the Psoriasis Association. When I became chair of the Trustees in 2015, I benefited greatly from his support and wise counsel. He will be sorely missed."

We offer our sincere condolences to Jonathan’s family and friends especially his wife Isobel, children and grandchildren at this difficult time.
