Hi, I'm new here and I was hopefully looking to make some friends that I can chat with and share my worries with? My name is Hannah and I'm 17, living in West Wales, UK c:
I've been suffering with psoriasis for about a year now without really knowing what it was. I had a few different things to try from the hospital but they didn't really work. It's taken this long to get diagnosed properly, but I've already got a number of things on prescription that I can pick up on Wednesday that will hopefully work.
I have really bad pso pretty much all over the scalp under my hair. It's very thick, even the dermatologist today was worried that it'd gotten so much worse since the last time she saw me. It's actually started to row to just the front of my hairline so you can see it without even moving my hair no matter how I try to hide it with my fringe or change my parting to cover it. It's always visible. It's gotten to the point where I just can't go outside without a hat on; it just knocks my self confidence too much. The flakes that fall and get tangled in my hair are horrible, especially as I have dark hair so it feels extra visible. Not to mention the awful itching.
The scalp condition got so bad that it actually went to my ears and worsened an existing ear infection dramatically to the point where I couldn't move for being in absolute agony and actually got rushed to hospital where I had to spend 3 nights enduring some quite frankly, painful treatments, to better it.
I also have it, embarrassingly enough, around my genitalia and backside, though this is nowhere near as bad and can be kept at bay with daily doses of eumovate cream. However, the area always seems redder than normal and if I miss so much as one day of treatment, it instantly flairs back up again and I'm back to square one.

Hi, I'm new here too and am also 17 :) I've has psoriasis for about 5 years now so am quite used to it but I still absolutely hate it. I had scalp pso for a while but it went over time as I became less stressed. I also have some on my genitalia and bum , what do you use to treat it on that area?

Hi, I'm 17 also new here, and feel like I'm almost being over dramatic, having read this forum and learnt of people who have dealt with it for years. My Pso first started at the beginning of this year but I've only known it was psoriasis for about 2 months, I have it on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet and have had steroid creams and dovobet but it hasn't helped at all. I've just been referred to a skin specialist but am worried about the other treatments as I've read up on them recently.
I completely understand what you mean by Pso knocking your self confidence as I'm finding it really upsetting just going into a shop and taking change from the person behind the counter as they just give me a horrible look, one person actually pulled there hand back and placed the money on the counter which made me feel awful about it.
It's so much worse on my feet. Unbearably itchy and sore to the point where I'm struggling to walk properly. It's almost becoming depressing just through silly little things like not being able to wear nice shoes to party's with friends and not being able to go out anywhere without almost crying through the pain of walking. It's really getting me down also and I'd really like to be able to talk to someone who is going through a similar if not the same thing.

Hi Hannah, my name is Ellen, I'm 18 from Kent in England. I used to have pso really bad on my scalp but oddly enough dying my hair with permenant dye seemed to calm it down for years now (I am not recommending that you dye your hair, but other pso sufferers have found that their scalp has cleared after dying their hair).
If your scalp is really bad, maybe you should use a shampoo that contains salt to scrub the dead skin from your head. Lush do several shampoos that contain gentle sea salt, and their products are outstanding for my pso but they are an investment and thankfully you can get free samples of the products if you go into a store.
Try:
Soak and Float (£5.50) (Honestly, it doesn't smell great but is used by pso sufferers and lasts for ages, would really be worth a try for you)

hey, the doctor told me to check out this site I am new to this, I am 17 , I got told I had psoriasis in July i had a small patch on my leg since then it has spread all over by body and I mean everywhere even on patches on my face, it is so embarrassing I wear long sleeve tops to cover my arms and I would never wear shorts, I moisturise my skin everyday at least 4 times a day and I also use dovbet cream but nothing seams to work, I have now been refereed to the dermatologist for uv light treatment I hope this works and can get it under control

I'm new to this group and was hoping to find people who are going through a similar thing as I am.
My psoriasis started around 2 years ago. The psoriasis started on my feet but then I also had some on my hands. That psoriasis on my hands has cleared now but my feet are still very bad. 2 weeks ago I noticed another piece of psoriasis on my chest but it isn't very noticeable.
I have had many creams for my psoriasis, but not many of them have seemed to work. I have also had light treatment which ended roughly June 2014.
I go to the dermatology clinic for regular check-ups and today they have said about taking tablets to help psoriasis but I am unsure on if I should choose that decision.
If anyone has got any tips I would be grateful.
I have also got to the point now where I do not know what shoes are best for me to wear because of the itching of the psoriasis and the pain that comes with it.

Hey, I'm new here too :)
I'm Anna, I'm 14 and Im from England. I've had plaque psoriasis for about a year and a half. I've used many different treatments from the doctors, including coal tar solution (exorex) Salyic acid, and many more, the one I have found most helpful, however, is the Silkis 3 micrograms ointment, it is vitamin D based, and has worked wonders on my face, however my arms and legs don't seem to be doing g as well. On them I am currently heavily moisturising and applying dobovet to them.
I have recently started to get more and more plaques in my scalp, I have tried dobovet in my hair, as the doctor told me to, but it doesn't seem to be making any difference and I am really starting to worry that my hair will fall out, does anyone know of anything that works well on your scalp, as I'm pretty desparate for ideas?
Thanks :)

Hey. I don't want to write a really long parograph that people might skip because it seems too long. I am 18 years old, male living in London and have had psoraisis since I was about 7. I've tried plenty of treatments from natural to steroids/tropicals. My email is enverankay15@hotmail.com for anyone who needs someone to talk to or get some advice. I know what it is like so I try my best to support others who are in this situation.

Hello, i am also new here. I am 17 years old (female) and I'm from the UK.. I started with psoriasis at 10 year old, which started on my scalp (and a very small patch on my right shoulder), however now it has also developed on the area surrounding my nipples (whilst also having it on my scalp still).. This is extremely painful for me and 2-3 times a day i have to apply Doublebase Gel to the nipple area - which i find actually lessens the redness and pain, however it doesn't seem to be doing much for me.. Does anyone else have nipple psoriasis? If so, what do you use to treat it? I could really do with someone else's views on treatment.
I hope you all get your psoriasis under control, its a real pain in the ass. :(
